Create a New Tawk.to Alias

A single Tawk.to account owner can have multiple aliases. When a lead starts a chat session, you can choose to be Ann, the Sales Rep or Jane, the Wedding Registry Rep. Furthermore, the appearance of each alias can be fully customizable. For instance, you can add smiling profile images for each since the visual of a smiling person increase conversion. Each 'person' could also have his / her customizable script. Aliases are useful in culturally sensitive markets. For instance, people may feel more comfortable discussing more personal problems with a female agent but technical electronics with a male agent. If a real agent is capable of wearing both hats, (s)he could play both roles. Voila; 2 employees for the price of 1.

  • Log in to your Tawk.to dashboard
  • Click the icon with your profile (logo or avatar, in the top left corner of the screen of a desktop computer).
  • Select 'Edit Profile' (from the dropdown list)
  • Click 'Aliases' (in the 'Account settings' section
  • Click the 'Add alias' button
  • Enter the display name and, as an option, the position title
  • As an option, click the 'Action' drop down menu to add a new image. Images should be at least 100*100 px. From a marketing perspective, consider using images of people who display a genuine smile and looking directly at the camera. Research shows that this type of image can increase lead conversion.
  • NB. Edit a pre-existing alias by clicking on it in the list of aliases
